So we are currently renting our home-to-be. That means we are still in the process of buying the home but we get to rent it until escrow closes.

Therefore we have moved in but have not been able to "make it our own" quite yet. We definitely want to wait til we actually own the place. So below I have posted pictures of our some of temporary, unfurnished, uncustomized casa :)

Nemo fans? No, okay moving on. We got a house! It is the exact floor plan of the home we first loved and lost! Except in a better location with a view and balcony... God is good. I don't know why I doubted Him in the first place. We are officially in escrow and renting the actually home til escrow closes! Yay.

We lost the bidding war. To a cash offer; that offer was less then ours. We were the higher bidders and lost. I think we were used to get the buyers to increase there offer, we were never considered.

After months of pursuit, we are no longer dealing with Bank of America on that super cool thing they called, a "short sale". I am happy to say, through our frustration and disappointment, we found a beautiful home. A home that surpasses every hope I had dreamed for our first home.

Oh, how often I forget all that He has planned. And He never fails to reveal how little I can dream up, how little I can plan.

We are currently in a bidding war for this home, please pray! We should hear from the bank soon...

Home Update

After three weeks of waiting with our offer out on the table, we began to lose hope in good old Bank of America. We spoke with our realtors and began a list of other potential homes to look at that were NOT short sales. As we planned our day of house hunting, we recieved a call stating that bank of America did not die, in fact they are alive and well.. So well they counter offered our offer. Which was just fine with us, we want that home! We recieved a potential closing date of December 30 . But with hard work, our dream is to be in the home before Christmas. Yay!

We have an appointment to see the home once more this Sunday at 10 am. I'm hoping to take pictures of the inside of the home then!

I found this table at the most quaint antique shop near by, The Green Pea Boutique. I have a feeling I will revisit often once we move, considering its so close to the house we're looking to buy. Anyhow, I completely fell in love with this piece of furniture. It's so weird, I've never seen such a perfect table for our kitchen before. Our first kitchen that would completely belong to us. To do as we wanted with it! And how more perfect would our home be if it had this to die for kitchen table in it :) ah!

We left the store without it, but a girl can dream right?! .....and beg.

I walked up to my dad today, held up an old baby t-shirt of mine and asked,

"Dad, do you remember me when I was this small?"

Growing up my family didn't keep much. Nothing was kept from my childhood, perhaps that's the reason why I have such a difficult time letting my daughter's things go. I feel a sadness, a sense of unimportance that I'm unable feel what I felt today, finding that little shirt from my past, more often.

As I approached my dad, I brought a little excitement and a bit of hope that maybe I had been wrong all these years. Maybe my parents simply lost my belongings in a move or perhaps had them tucked away in a special place for no one to disturb.

Upon asking my father, I received as little as a look. No response.

"Dad? Do you remember me as a baby?"

My father confirmed all insecurity I had. "nope." he said.

Without a care.

I nodded. I knew that. Stupid me.

Why is it that the harder you fight emotions, the harder they flood you. Drown you. No matter how old, how confident you think you are. It's been a while since I've revisited my feelings of my Father. But they have dusted off the cobwebs and demolished the tight quarters in which I'd placed them in so many years ago.

If any Dads are reading this, I hope you strive to be different. To know that whatever life you had before your children does not define you as a Father. You can be any man you choose to be. Everyday is an opportunity, a choice. Everything you do means something. Somehow, some way, you will directly impact this world. And your children will remember you.

No new news on the home owning process.. We're still waiting on the bank to HOPEFULLY accept our offer. Our realtors, however, did come to us with some hope. They said that last year only 30% of short sale deals went through. This year, 80% percent of all short sales go through and the buyer gets the home! Here's to hoping!!

The home is a two story, 3 bedroom, 2 bath, 2 car garage, and one car garage conversion. It has been converted into another room with a full bath in the back... Man room anyone? Its so perfect for our little family. I can't seems anywhere else, and the more I think about it, the more it seems just right!

Fall is coming, fall is coming!

At almost 14 months, I collect rocks from our evening walks. I love the outdoors and I enjoy pointing out the trees along the way.

My favorite words are "mama" "dada" "tree" "uh-oh" and "wow-wow" (translation: dog).

I adore my baby dolls and you would hardly ever see me without at least one in my arms.

For some reason, I find it hard to resist the taste of sidewalk chalk. But I try hard to simply draw with it, like mommy asks me to.

I've learned to climb steps and I'm sooooo proud of myself when I've snuck up all the stairs, but mommy doesn't like that either!

My hair is finally long enough to put bows in without glue! Mommy does like that!

She tells me I'm growing up to be really girly. I think it's because I hate the feeling of dirt on my little hands and I LOVE mommy's jewelry! I just can't get enough of the bracelets and long necklaces. And we can't forget my love for shoes and new exciting clothes :)

Every evening, the little Richey fam goes out for a calming walk. This helps Callia end her day of active craziness, and begin her night of calm play. After the walk, we start the bedtime routine, so it does also give Nate and I a one on one opportunity to give Callia our complete attention. Anyway, we enjoy mixing it up from our neighborhood to the park... to the cemetery? Here in Rio Vista, there are two. One closer to town and another as you leave town, up on a hill.

I can't believe your a year old. The thought of you growing up brings forth two feelings: complete pride that my baby girl is growing up so lovely. Another, complete and utter sadness thinking that one day you will leave the little nest that your daddy and I have built especially for you. Though I know, you will leave a woman. You are reaching for everything you shouldn't and often are distracted by your shiny marble blue ball Mommy bought you yesterday. Your little right ankle turns ever so slightly with every step. A week ago, we had the opportunity to go boating with my family for the day up at Don Pedro Lake. Which was A-M-A-Z-I-N-G to be back where I feel like I belong!lol I grew up spending weekends out on that water and in that very boat. So i am very excited and grateful my little baby girl gets to experience and learn to love the wind in her hair, the rock of the boat, and the very place I look back and find joy in my childhood memories.
Now Callia didn't go wake boarding like the rest of us, but she did give swimming a try! Can't forget driving the boat, she did do that ;)

Sorry I haven't written In a while, we actually haven't gone out to much. I've hotel-bound my family, haven't quite got over whatever I have. But whatever it is, I'm hoping it doesn't require a doctor visit. Considering I'm at the very least 12 hours from home, that wouldn't be good.

The Dales of Yorkshire

We leave for London in 4 days, from what I heard London is "madness" (said in an english accent). So what better way to spend Sunday then in the Dales! The Dales are the slow pace county folks, living in the teeny weeny quaint villages. Where you live off your land and profit off your sheep and cattle. And we can not forget the loose stone walls that run along roads and properties :)

Oh and on the way ran into the caverns of...hmm I'll get back to you on the name. Haha. It was very very cold, wet, and dark. Nate spent most of the time ducking through little paths, quite creepy. And my first cave. You know, often Callia's firsts are shared with mine :) only difference is, I'm a bit older.lol

York Minster

We spent our first saturday here in York exploring downtown. You've already seen a bit from my first post, but this time we went to the York Minister. You know, everyone around here says it's a must see on a tourist list, and I wish I could say it was an amazing experience.

Nothing went wrong, there weren't many people for it being the weekend, Callia wasn't a bit fussy... Walking in, it was obviously huge, extravagant, could very well be an awe moment. But to me, it felt..
wrong.
I can't explain it other than the fact that I felt sick about the entire thing. It felt very, worshiped. with statues of man, man, and more man..it felt somehow glorified. I tried to enjoy it as "art" or just simply "amazing hard labor and talent", but it wasn't. It was made for worship, a place to be near our God.

I know what your thinking, it isn't a Christian church. But it is a church with scripture on the walls that i read in my very bible. The words of God. My God. And it makes me sad that people built such a place where they felt the need to use all their money, time,dedication, and focus into something so distracting and empty. When it was intended for the opposite.

Anyway, it was pretty and I'm just weird.

I really do wish I could say I found it beautiful, but I felt a heavy heart instead. BUT that's is just my humble perspective, that I couldn't seem to shake.

So you don't leave this blog post totally depressed!......

Yesterday we took a trip to the coast. On our way there, there were some weird sights lol. Cows roam free, free to cross the highway if they'd like. Talk about waiting for an accident lol. A jockey and her horse walking on the highway, totally normal in california right?

The village was called Hornsea. It was small and quaint. We were definitely the loudest ones there I bet, besides the "amusement" place right on the water. It was really just an arcade, you could hear the upbeat techno music.
I've never seen any ocean but the pacific so it was a little weird to think that it wasn't the pacific in front of me. I felt like I was somehow cheating on my always so faithful beaches back home. Haha

Fly Time, please be good to me...

The story of our journey from San Francisco to England starts off like any other traveler's tale. One that is filled with lay-overs and bad airport food; a tale that contains unresponsive and consistently frustrating automative machines that have replaced the true meaning of customer service. And we can not forget our most adventurous 10 month old baby button, paired with our 24 hour travel time. One word to describe it all: awesome. No, let's try it again, exhaustion meets "could be worse" is there such a word?

Don't get me wrong, the trip did not consist of a screaming baby the whole time but I think it was more the time difference that gave us (all 3 of us) the beating. The time difference is about 9 1/2 hour difference. They are ahead here, so when we landed our second flight at what would be roughly 12am in America,
it was 9:30 in the morning in Amsterdam.

We are staying in the York Marriott Hotel until July 2nd I believe. And I've got to say, it is very pretty here. I love my California, but England's style is.... My cup of tea :)

Its beautiful, especially the homes. The homes here are only ones I'd dream of having. They're perfect. French doors and balconies to enjoy your morning coffee. Vine and moss climbing the brick and stone. Charming little windows and cute gardens every which way. Awh, take it all in.

And there's something to be said about extra friendly people; you're new name: "love" :) There's something about this place that makes you live in a way that has you actually stop and smell the roses. As for me, I enjoy a fresh pot of coffee. Brewed especially for me. Along side three cubes of brown sugar and a tad bit milk please :)

oh the chaos of summer..

...and how it has finally arrived! I was a bit worried about our little season, i'll be honest. okay so what have we been up to? well...

The beginning of the second week in June, the family came up and of course we bought season passes to six flags discovery kingdom and away we went! (a whole 30-somethin miles, that is) Callia did very well, she let us walk and watch shows as we pleased :)

...thought i had pictures... hmmm.

Anyway, we just got back last night from a driving tour to the Long Beach area. We headed down friday morning and got back yesterday around 7:30pm.It was a pretty relaxing stay, we were staying a the marriot right on the waterfront; along side the Queen Mary :)

And that gives us just enough "home time" to relax and wash our clothes for the next trip. To York, UK. Oh man am I nervous for the flight! ..3 flights that is. 12 hours. hmm... it should be good. stay tuned.

Anyhow, York is where we'll be for the next two weeks (we'll be staying in the York Marriot, feel free to google map it and wave!). Then, we drive to London, England where we'll spend our last week overseas. But we have hopes to stop by Scotland in the spare weekend before London.

So we will be out of the country starting June 18th..early early morning from San Francisco. And will return 3 weeks from then. But have no fear! We will blog.

Woke up to the smell of croissant and coffee at its side. Drove to a local salon and received a perfect cut. Followed by a shop til you drop moment for a cute like number. Dined at a smokin good sushi restaurant -happy hour, score!

Now for quiet drive home...

Surprise delivery package, some surprise carrot cake accompanied with the never ending spark candles.

Overall a slammin good birthday.

We are officially season pass owners to six flags once again. Only this time we are in the northern California location.

Last night:

"Hey babe we should totally go tomorrow to six flags and process our passes and while we're there, see some shows."

"Oh boy that'll be so fun. And no one will hardly be there because its so early in the season!"

2 hours after arriving in park:

"Wow, glad we got that over with considering everyones here and their mom."

Conclusion:

Weekend + amusement park....yeah. ..wont do that again. Unless I want to get pushed out of a woman's way with her stroller wheels.

Last summer Callia wasn't able to enjoy the sunshine of the summer; she was busy sleeping and growing. So this year, Callia and I thought we'd kick off the 2011 summer with a little pool time. baby pool time that is! I loaded a couple pictures in the last post, but took a second look at the others and thought I had to share these too :)

Our lives have flown past too fast to realize. Our little baby Richey is now 9 months and 2 days old. Weighing in at a whopping 17 pounds and 1 oz. haha dropping her down into the 19th percentile in weight. Her new doc looked at her and said, "eat eat eat!". Her height is 28 inches, putting her in the 66th percentile for height. Aaanndd her head is still little lol 43 centimeters, in the 22nd percentile. Little head :) Better than big I guess.

If you don't know it, we have moved officially as of the may 1st weekend. We are now living our exciting days in a little town called Rio Vista. Not too much goes on around here, but we are happy to be here. lol the view is pretty sweet from our place up on the hill. And from what I hear, we get to see the fireworks go off from the waterfront to our backyard. Pretty cool if you ask me.

Little baby girl has been crawling like mad. Ever since she went mobile, she can't sit still! (which probably explains the weight drop). She's crazy. Her personality seems to have exploded! I love getting to know this girl, and am patiently waiting to see who she'll become :)

Sunday morning? Let's head to Monterey. Nate had a few shows to do in the area, so we went ahead and stayed at a bed&breakfast. But not just any bed&breakfast, the very one that Nate and I stayed in for our honeymoon :) It was neat to return to the place where we spent our first days as Mr.&Mrs. Nate Richey. ..and to return almost 4 years later with our new little addition..

The Verdict.

The verdict is in.. the debate between clingy baby vs. teething baby is resolved! On March 21, 2011 I felt the little bottom-front-right tooth break to the surface! She got her first tooth! And if she'd let me, I'd take a photo. But refuses by sticking out that tongue every time. I know most baby's receive the front-bottom teeth first, which I think is funny. I mean, how much is that tooth really going to do! Regardless, we are happy to have it.

Today I experienced my first mommy-of-the-year moment. There I was, trying to be a good wife by quickly getting an umbrella to Nate as he worked outside in the rain. I sat Callia down on the couch and reached for the umbrella, as I did so, Callia leans forward to reach for who knows what.. and to be honest, it must not have been important and definitely not worth the fall that soon followed. Agh.

No, Callia's first fall hadn't taken place with the babysitter (if we had one). No, it hadn't happened when Nate watched her as I went to the gym...nor when He plays video games with her, NO.. it happened under the supervision of, WHO? None other than... muah. Now the small bump resides on the side of my little ones head. Graciously there reminding me of my "great" mommy moment. (no one saw, therefore Nate did it)

We've talked about it. And after many hugs and lots of kiss, and maybe a few nibbles of my lunch, she forgave me. So the world is alright. Our little world is alright :)

Yes, my child likes chunky, tasty real grown up food. No mushy baby food for this 7 month old!
And what else does little miss Callia like?
Recently this has been put on the list of the things she can not do without:being held by mommy. ALL DAY LONG, and not a second less! We're thinking maybe, hopefully it's a little tooth under those gums trying to poke its way out into this big world. I don't blame the tooth, Callia's been eating some good stuff these last few months. Her new discovery that she seems to love is kiwi. Weird right? I thought she'd think it's too sour, but she seem to really like it. Squash is still on the top of the list and green beans is still on the oh-sad-but-true, bottom. very bottom.

Another reason this little miss is so moody may be that she is just getting plain out attached. If this is the case, for some odd reason i'm okay with. I know that right now, my baby thinks the world is a whole lot better when mommy's around. But I know one day she's going to tell me that some things are none of my business... my little clingy girl will one day grow up. And until then, it's okay by me if she rather have me around for a little while.

Some other great news in the Richey household, God has been totally blessing us with some extra funds this early year. Nate continues to do well in the company and I'm so very proud :) We are able to pay off some things and gets some much needed furniture and such. Leather is so much more practical than suede when it comes to babies. Anyhow, we are very grateful for our current situation. We have also managed to sell the unpractical Audi. The suv that we've been driving seems to be a lot better for Nate and his work load. We will see what vehicle joins the family next...

We have had some very busy, busy, few days. Anywhere from making some fun crafts to getting multiple shots in the thigh (Callia's thighs that is). It was kicked off by Nates awesome surprise up in the hills. He droves us a bit north of Auburn where we drove to a bridge, parked, and hiked! It was so nice to be out enjoying the last few days of nice weather.

I don't know where you are in this beautiful state but the weather here these past couple days have been a-maz-ing! Well, it hasn't been the prettiest I've ever seen, but pretty enough to dust off my flip flops and head for a stroll. Callia was of course so excited. She ran for the door, quickly tied her laces, threw on her bonnet, and jumped out the portal!

Okay, maybe she wasn't THAT excited. She is only 5 months.. so instead it looked like this:

I walked in and said "Callia, it's so pretty outside!! Let's go for a walk to the park!" Callia was in the middle of the family room, lying on the floor, on her tummy. She looked over and stuck her rattle in her mouth, kicked a leg or two, then looked away. She was excited alright.

As we walked to the park we looked at the trees, the green, the brown, the dead and alive. Cars passed, she didn't seem to mind. In fact, she watched as they drove. Except for UPS.. that one was a little too big and a little too loud. She was startled. But she quickly moved passed that to sit in baby swing! Hurray! She was a bit too small still, so she only swung a bit. With me holding onto her and the swing. So really she wasn't swinging on the swing at all. But the illusion was there and she squealed with joy!

It is so nice to live so close to the park and I know one day, Callia will be happy we do too.

We have now entered to days of "play" with Callia. And we are so excited to have reached the beginning of this long and fun time in her life. Play.
As you see above, this is a picture of her baby monitor. "Play" has recently spilled into..well, everything. Including nap time.

We have recently visited the doctors for her 4 month check up. (though she will be 5 months on the 15th) Here is how it went:

weight: 13 lbs 13 oz.
(40 percentile for her weight)

height: 26 inches
(90th percentile for her height!) this means she has grown 6 inches since birth!! is this my child??

We have gotten the green light to begin to introduce the world of food! How exciting! But most of the time Callia seems to view this world a bit confusing. You have to chew?? With what?!

So far she has nibbled on a pancake, beans, orange, apple, and prunes. Her favorite so far seems to be the prunes. haha

All in all, I would say she is a pretty happy baby in this little world she calls her life. She spends most her days playing, eating, and sleeping. Oh and we can't forget her beloved friends she watches, thank you Baby Einstein videos.

funny story: We're all lounging in our living room the night of the 22nd or 21st not sure. Anyway, we get the bright idea to open one of our presents to each other early. Well I look over to Callia, as she's sitting in her bumpo seat all cute. And I realize we don't have her gift yet! lol I felt so awful leaving her out like that, that I made Nate go out at 9:00 at night to get her a gift. Nate thought it was ridiculous but I could bring myself to just have her open our gifts and be so left out. (as if she'd know).. but I know!

This year for halloween we (in this case Nate) signed us up for trunk or treat with our church. Trunk or treat is somewhat of a safe halloween alternative. The church parking lot gets filled with cars and the kids can go to each car and get candy. There were games, food, bounce house... lol it was fun. Anyway, the three of us went as clowns. The Richey clown clan. haha Nate was suppose to go as a hobo type clown, but as the week went on, his costume became less and less. haha now we joke and say he was just a guy in a big jacket. haha anyway here's some pics, enjoy!!

Life with the Richey's: month two and counting

This month's (and probably next month's) mission is to convince Callia that her crib is the most wonderful place. Sure it looks and acts like a cage, and lets be honest, its no foam mattress, but it could be great...???
During our exercise time, (this is the time in which I work my butt off and Callia spends some time on the floor aka "tummy time") Callia has made some awesome effort. She is able to hold her head up and prop her arms. Its so neat! She's so little, yet so smart. Which is probably why she has yet to be convinced about her crib.

We made a couple visits to the pumpkin patch this last month, which Callia thought was super. At the pumpkin patch in Dixon, we went with our friends the Browns, which was nice for me because I knew Allison was there with her new one too although Callia was passed out the entire time.

And at the other patch in Bakersfield we went with the Richeys! We weren't as lucky there. She was moody, lol. All in all I'm glad we took her. She may not have been able to pick out a pumpkin this year, but it was a great opportunity for pictures and of course, family time.

Callia went for her 2 month physical on Wednesday. All is good. She received her shots, and we found out she is 10 lbs 8 oz. Perfect!

We have big plans for her costume this year.. are you ready?... A clown! haha don't judge it until you see it.

Also those of you holding your breath for those blue eyes... doc says they will MAYBE move a few shades but certainly not moving to the brown team this late in the game.

Well Callia is quite the cute baby. Her personality shines more and more each day. It's always fun to see how she takes her naps; she sleeps like a little adult, spread out but her arms are always doing something cute.

Every day she's growing more and more! I feel quite torn about it actually, in one sense i'm so happy and proud that she can do things like holding up her head, but in the other it makes me sad to think that she's just that much closer to leaving for college. She only fits in half her newborn clothes now!

New things about Callia:

*Loves, loves her baths in the baby tub. ...until she sneezes and has a accident.

*Smiles!! and other expressions! ..like when she's excited, scared, or offended about her gas.

*She can hold up her head on her own and turn it to whatever direction she wants (which isn't always good when mommy goes in for a kiss and Callia accidentally turns it) lol

*Her belly is quite large and round.

*She loves reading her baby books with lots of bright colors and pictures.

*No matter where she is, or what room.. she will find a fan.

*Enjoys long conversations.. particularly those that include a song or two. And may I add that her voice is quite precious!

*Callia's hair is definitely lightening. So much for mom's hair color lol.

*Enjoys drooling all over your shoulders and sleeves.

*She can control her hand enough to bring it to her mouth.

*And last but not least, her newest discovery... if she stiffens her whole body, she can stand! She's quite proud of that.

..and her head looks like a little tomato when she's mad. (not something new, but a fun fact if you didn't know).

So I will start this post the usual way, though this one is particularly special, "I'm sorry for the neglect I've given my followers...

Moving on, most of you know but the arrival of our mini me finally came (and in this case she is definitely "mini Nate"). We named her Callia Addison Richey; weighing in at 7 lbs 15 oz. There were a few complications.. fever, infection, vacuum.. but all in all, successful. I must say, just because its your first, doesn't it'll take forever to deliver (like the doctors say). Callia was born after 18 minutes of pushing! Nate said it was 8 pushes!! Nice. So there's a little bit of hope for all you new mommies to be, or looking into being one. lol

And 5 days later, we were home with our new baby.

So much thanks to all those who came to see little Callia, it made her debut even more special sharing it with all our loved ones!

I'm sorry AGAIN that I have fallen behind. Things have been kind of chaotic and confusing lately. Basically I got contractions for about a week and finally ended in a long and unmediated labor and NO delivery. The doctors seem to think it could be the baby's position that isn't allowing my cervix to effectively dilate through the contractions I experience. All that to say, very disappointing, tiring, and for some reason really sad.

They explained that It might happen again before I can actually move onto the delivery. "so go home, relax." yeah right. But while in the hospital we did find out that my platelets are continuing to lower. At this point, our good friend epidural is now a "long distance, you wish you could have it, ex-friend". And we say hello to good old nat-ch-ural. Yeah, imagine that? Someone in 2010 delivering pain medication free? .. apparently it happens! lol

Anyway, I will let you all know if we in fact end up seeing this girl. We have made it to 38 weeks. Our baby is a full-term chunkster. Well, she's probably going to be small at delivery, but while she is still inside me.. she is pretty big to me!

Oh! and I have developed pregnancy carpal tunnel! Oh man, this post seems a little depressing. But it's totally not, just giving you the facts lol. SO DON'T GET PREGNANT! Just kidding.

Our midwife did encourage us by saying the next time I end up going into labor, I'll most likely deliver and actually get to see our baby girl.

Until then, mom AND dad wait.

sorry i'm such a slacker. I was just totally obsessed when Nate visited. And now that he left, I feel... pregnant. I'm so exhausted all the time it's insane. At this point, I don't know how people would like to do this more than once. I say "once" because you don't know what you're getting yourself into the first time. And I say "at this point" because I've heard over and over and over that I will forget all that has happened the moment she arrives and would love to do it all over again.

This baby girl still thinks she's 20 weeks old, she tries to show off her moves like she did in all the ultrasounds. But the only difference is, it feels like there's no more fluid in there to cushion those moves.. and well, she has to face it, she a big girl now. Not too big I was told from the doc our last visit. woo hoo! she said that her guess is she's about a pound under the average weight and still has room to grow. She estimated her weight about 7 at delivery. Sweet.

From what I've read she is considered "full term" by the end of this week. Which is sweet, that means all systems go. Well, as far as her development. So I'm stoked to hear that, but not looking forward to the finish line. But I'm sure after delivery, I will feel much relief (so i hear). If you haven't noticed, not only do I read a lot, I hear a lot. Even strangers like to give their two cents.

- It will be a good mental note for my future run-ins with the pregnant race. Just because their stomach is big and perhaps moving, doesn't mean I can say whatever comes to mind.

So I see the doctor soon, this Monday morning in fact. This will be the first visit of the few that are left, to go every week. In this appointment I will have a few test run. Including the platelets test to see if the count has rose at all to normal. If not I think she'll go over what will end up happening after delivery. Also, I am checked for any dilation. weird...

that means, she coming soon. like real soon.

So it has been a long 2 weeks! My feet have had it, my back has had it but Nate comes home! He flies in tonight around 7:50ish at the San Francisco airport. He will stay for about two weeks and head out around the 17th of july. Then he will return for good the first week in August. and I am so excited!

Yes, Bashing, around London that is. I kinda waited to do everything on Saturday. Not the best thing to do. I probably walked about 20 miles. I think I saw everything there was to see though. You know, the Buckingham Palace, Parliament, Big Ben and the clock tower it's in, Westminster Abby, the South Gate Lion, the London Eye, Old Scotland Yard, all the crazy huge fountains, Piccadilly Circus, the London Bridge, the London Tower, Shakespeare's play house, the London Dungeons, the Clink (the crazy torture dungeon that was under the London streets), St. Pauls Cathedral, there was some other stuff in there too. But all to say, I think I got a pretty good taste of London. My legs don't work, but I guess that's the price you pay. Anyway, Oh, saw the changing of the guard as well. Honestly, I was a little disappointed. Not as cool as I thought it was going to be. Funniest thing I saw was probably about twenty people taking pictures of a dead squirrel. And I mean, they were really into taking pictures of the this thing. Other then that, the count down has begun and I will be leaving this place in five days. I can't wait to get back and hold my girls. You know, because if I hold one I'm kinda holding both. Anyway, love you babe.

So Nate is officially out of the country. He flew out very very early Saturday morning for London. And he will not return until late July 3. So if you want to get a hold of him, the fastest cheapest and only way is to email him or facebook always works best.

Okay so yesterday was the day my family threw Callia a shower.. mexican style. lol . Just kidding, but seriously it was insane. There was so much food, people, and salsa! It was a lot of fun and we receive many pink gifts. Callia received many pairs of mary janes, dresses, and blankets. We also managed to receive our amazing video baby monitor we had registered for and many other registered necessities. Here's some pics of yesterday's shower:

So between the two showers, Nate's family and mine, we pretty much are set! There were lots of embarrassing games for all and did I mention the food? haha I wish I could say our favors were goody bags, but pretty much the only thing left was salad. So here's the most recent picture of the belly. She's growing so much! The pointy part at my belly is her butt, pushing up against my belly button. lol. The doctor said she is idle weight so here's to hoping she's small. Which it sounds like she'll be. Fun fact we just heard from our last visit: from the top of the uterus to the top of the pubic bone is the amount of weeks you are. So this monday we measured at 31 cm, 31 weeks along. So we are probably a few days off on the date. The doctor also showed us the position of the baby. She said that her head is real low and she is facing my spine. Which is the perfect position for delivery! She said that she already made her way down... weird.. scary.. exciting. lol

Now that we know the position of our baby, Nate likes to tease the poor girl. He'll push her butt when she sticks it out. Or pokes her little foot when she sticks it out. It's so funny because she actually responds! I love seeing how excited he is. And I don't know when it clicked that that thing growing in my torso is his baby girl, but I have to say, I can't complain! I am very happy to see his new realization :)

So here we are at our last week of our 7 month. She'll be 8 months this coming wednesday! Time is moving little faster now; its hard to believe we are already on our way down the pregnancy hill. She is 3 lbs and about 17 inches. She is moving SO much, it's actually just a teeny bit painful at times, more uncomfortable than anything. Most definitely feeling pregnant these days, Especially when we travel! Speaking of traveling, we fly home tomorrow. woo hoo, excited for our last week off before Nate flies out for London on the 19th. We talk a lot about how when he returns from his summer tour, our little baby will be pretty close to being ready. I know summer just flies by so I'm trying to enjoy having her inside at this age, because I know once she's out there's no going back :)
Its just so hard to be patient, the more she grows the more she feels like a real baby in there. I know it sounds silly but when I feel a definite fist or foot, it just excites me. Therefore, making me more eager to see her. But I know she'll be here soon enough and she'll be growing so quickly... so enjoy. relax, she'll be here soon.

Hey everyone! I'm sorry I haven't written in a while, with the shower down south, we've been pretty busy. The shower was so fun and a complete success. There were no plans for games, but with Nate's persistence, the games we actually played were pretty fun. Much, much thanks and gratitude for everyone who helped to make it happen!

We are at the end of our 29th week.. so crazy to think we are already getting into our 30's! This means by the next few weeks she'll be at her 8th month mark! Our little baby girl is definitely growing (trust me) and she is still VERY active. lol My stomach's getting pretty tight and hard.. That's a good sign, I guess she's getting enough calcium to those bones!
She seems to get the hiccups pretty often, but I read it doesn't discomfort her like us adults :)

Nate and I are in Vancouver, Canada this week and having a ton of fun peeking through the baby stores (mainly window shopping in the little itty-bitty dresses department). My excitement to see her is getting pretty real now. It kills me to know she has all her little details to her face all this time, and I just have to stare at my expanding belly. (which the belly button is still but barely hanging on to the "innie" status) All that said, we are very excited to have her out in the world wearing her little white dress and spreading the joy I know she'll bring. But all in God's time. Don't want her here until she's ready, and only He knows when that is. ..so until then, Mama waits. Miss you babe.

Hey Hey, Nate gets to do blogs every once in a while too. So, here it goes. Um, being prego is fun. the end. Ok, not the end, just the beginning. Lisa is doing great, swollen feet and all. Her sandals fit really well now. We're rolling on 27 weeks now. Baby to be is kicking and punching enough not to just keep Lisa up, but occasionally myself as well. I know, that's terrible huh? Me being kept up. haha. So we were in Texas last week, with all the blessings the humidity could bring. Lisa thinks all prisoners should be kept in cells outside in Texas. While we were there, we got to see the good ol Alamo. I tried to tell Lisa the history behind it, but like most of my history stories, she didn't seem to care much. Lisa is telling me that I need to tell you that the baby is 15 inches long and weighs a little over two pounds, or to put that in guy terms, a really big salami. It's the last week for the second trimester, so please pray for me. haha. We just watched Pistol Pete Marravick, if you remember that movie. That also reminds me that I have to tell you that Lisa's uterus is the size of a basketball. You like how I flowed into that one. You would if you knew the movie. Now most of you are totally lost and wondering why Lisa didn't write this blog like she usually does. I will take that into consideration the next time she tells me it's my turn. And that's the show.

So we made it to over a pound and a half ladies and gentlemen. She is officially hurting my back. haha But it's very good to know that our little girl is growing up healthy and strong. She is practicing breathing this week for the first time. And her vocal cords are well developed.. should be feeling those hiccups soon.

This weeks so far has definitely had me thinking a lot abouts gratitude. There are so many things I take for granted; but I've learned especially with this pregnancy. I have felt so out of control since she came into our lives; the process just happened. But I think in a sense, I assumed that since God had control that everything was fine. And indeed it is, but the pregnancy doesn't necessarily have to be going perfect for God to be in control.

It's a gift that she is healthy. A gift that only God gives and did not have to. So much thanks was needed.

I have also posted a few pictures of Bob's Red Mill manufacturing store that I was able to visit while we were in Portland, Oregon last week.

We are currently in Portland, Oregon. We drove up Sunday morning and will be heading home Friday. As soon as it gets warm in California again..we leave and head for the rain! On Saturday we have big plans to attend the annual Scottish games at the woodland fairgrounds. We are so stoked to go. However, we did go for a hike at the Solano Regional Park last saturday and I'll be honest, I did not last long. I was surprised to see that I was so hot and tired, I was swelling. Is it weird that I am still surprised how much one little baby girl affects you before she's even arrived?

....so hopefully I'll last a little longer that a couple of hours at the fairgrounds.

And for those of you who know about Nate's wallet getting stolen, the progress is going good. We finally were able to stop the charges. The owner of the market has been great and has actually viewed the tapes to the cameras. He actually recognized the group of people repeatedly charging Nate's cards. So he has offered to give those names to the investigator. Which we are very stoked to finally put it all passed us.

Okay, So not much has changed at 22 weeks and 4 days. Except for maybe the baby's size. She is sitting at a pound (that's right, we broke into the pounds). Well technically I have quite a few pounds on me, just a few. We are settling into our new home quite nicely. Steph and I even managed to plant a lily out back; and Nate helped me get a cute hot pink rose bush out. So even though I'm bummed it's raining, I'm glad I have a better chance at keeping these plants alive.

The grandparents and great grandma came up not too long ago to see the new place. You see, we are really hoping and praying that they would all move up to Woodland with us when Mike and Trish retire. So we actually spent the entire weekend trying to sell the town to them. lol (So if you all could tell them how wonderful this plan is at the shower, it would be much appreciated.) But while tours were being given... With the help of the Grandparents, we managed to officially start her wardrobe.
I'll tell you, our baby girl is going to be the cutest! And of course I'm not saying that because I'm her mom. It's the truth. She is definitely getting much stronger. She's surprising me actually. Oh! And I did go to the follow up appointment and the Doctor said that our baby girl is perfect and her heart sounds "beautiful". :)

Nate and I just started watching Jamie Oliver's Food Revolution, they cook a lot of stir fry in the show.. soo... Nate and I made some fresh! So here are some pics of last night.. plus, you could see if she's grown since our last pic!

The Big Ultrasound.

We went to see the lab yesterday for our "big" ultrasound, and came to discover that the baby is not 20 weeks and 5 days as of today but actually 21 weeks and 4 days. So the due date has moved up officially from (our anniversary date) august 18th to august 13th (which is a friday, weird).

They went ahead and took about every measurement of the baby's limb and then some. While she was doing that, she pointed out the baby's position. Picture this: The baby was on his/her back, with both arms behind his/her head. Elbows bent. His/her ankle's crossed and he/she was moving their mouth, opening and closing it, open and closed. haha what a crack up. What was the baby doing? Talking to his/herself? Reflecting on life?

After she got through taking all the pictures and measurements, she was ready to tell us the sex of the baby. She did mention that if anything were wrong or abnormal, the doctor would contact me for further ultrasounds. But she said, from what she saw, she highly doubts that we'd get a call.

So after waiting for what seems like an eternity, she says she already knows what the sex is. She saw at some point and we didn't even catch it lol. Nate had an idea and wanted her to post a picture up, and he'd guess the sex.
So she did as he asked and said "okay, guess".
Nate looked at the picture for a sec and said, "there's nothing there."...."so a girl?"

(which is impossible by the way since I "know" its a boy. we both did. I mean, I've been talking to the baby and calling him a little dude or buddy.)

........well, the doc said, "You're right".

20 weeks.

We are officially out of the old home in Sacramento and into the new in woodland. Though we've spent little time here so far, we are so happy to be living here. The house is just perfect and we have even managed to get the crib up and waiting. lol We had arrangements with the previous landlords to pay for April even though we weren't living there. But now seems hopeful that someone is looking into moving in! (Which is really really good for us = we get rent back!)
It is not for sure but a few people looked at it on Monday and the previous landlord said we would find out later today if they took the home. So here's to hoping!
I've put up a few pictures to give you a little idea of what the home is like on the inside. Now, keep in mind that the house is somewhat of a U-shape. So a lot of the pictures are half's of the room :)

Update on the baby: I have officially been loving the feeling of the baby move, twist, kick. There was a couple yesterday that were quite strong; It stopped me in my tracks! I was surprised. So I decided that the baby is pretty much training for his/her next match. Though, the baby is alone so I'm not quite sure who the opponent is. .... Looks like its me. lol

But the really awesome part, is that Nate actually felt a few! To him they were really light taps to the surface. But the baby is so young to be felt on the outside! ..which is why I am convinced he/she is a boxer.

(Our big ultrasound appointment is this Monday @ 3pm. This is where we find out the sex of the baby :)

19 weeks: To A New Beginning.

Here we are, at week 19!
We are officially moving! We finally were able to get out of our lease (Thank You God) and we are moving to woodland. For those of you who do not know, we have had some conflict with the angry neighbor who doesn't seem to care much for respect or resolving any disagreements. Basically, the situation escalated and became an unsafe and uncomfortable living situation.

Anyhow, Unlike good old Sacramento, Woodland it is a small town neighbor to Davis, Ca. Which will be a much needed change from Busy Sacramento. We toured around last weekend and found that there is a lot of history stored in the town. Anywhere from extravagant Victorian homes to an old opera house. I am very excited to have found a small, old town that seems to be a bit quieter and more relaxed to settle down.

The house is absolutely adorable! I couldn't be happier with the home, there is not a thing I would change. It was built in the 1930's and has a lot of its original detail and characteristics in tact. And not only just existent, but very well maintained. The backyard looks like a little park of your very own; with many gardening areas. We just can't wait for the big move. We're looking into moving in March 26th (Mike and Trish, You guys should come enjoy the backyard with us...). We have also got the baby shower invites going...and they're coming out cute. With plenty of hours of entertainment making them :) They will be sent out after our appointment on April 5th. So look out for them soon!

We visited the doctor Monday afternoon; it was a pretty quick appointment I must say. We were in, she listened to the baby's heartbeat...still there, and we were out. However, we did get instructions to where and when we would find the out the sex of the baby. April 5th is the date of that appointment (wish you guys could be there mike and trish). I just wanted you guys to know that I think I felt the baby today. As I probably mentioned before, I've read that it feels like "butterflies fluttering" in your stomach or crawling... not sure what that feels like so I finally stopped trying to figure out what butterflies fluttering feels like in your lower abdomen, I was still. I was quiet. Plus, It helped that I was exhausted. And sure enough, I was lying on my back and felt something kick me. from the inside. ..and it felt like.. a baby kicking you from the inside. lol So I'm pretty sure, so we'll see if the little critter kicks again soon to confirm.

Just wanted to stop by and give a quick update... still haven't felt the baby. I feel a lot while I'm pregnant so it's really hard to even know what is what. But I'm pretty sure that once I feel the "butterflies" that many talk about, I'm sure after a couple of times I'll figure it out. I'm growing but not too quickly, although it does feel like I just woke up with a little pooch that never went away. So I'm glad to see that the baby's still there and growing. It's hard to believe that you're growing a baby and not just gaining weight because you eat a lot, all of a sudden. I think that's why I'm waiting and waiting to feel the little guy. ((I don't know for sure that it's a little "guy" but I have a "feeling".))

So we're sitting at 16 weeks and a few days... 20 weeks seems so far away! See, week 20 is the big appointment where you find out the big news.. There's a baby! Okay so we already know that, but the examination is a lot more detailed and we find out the sex! Which is a bit weird knowing the parts are there already, we just have to wait to see them. lol okay, a little awkward, moving on. We actually have an appointment on the 15th of this month to schedule this big appointment to come in the lab. ..I'll give updates after we've gone.

We're still waiting to feel the baby, and from what I heard: It'll take me longer to recognize a kick since it's our first little one. I have been spending half of my brain paying extra attention to my belly this week... we'll see!

12 Weeks, 5 Days

Well I'll be honest, this post is here for one reason and one reason only. The amazing ultrasound we received earlier today. The baby was going insane! The doctor was very surprised! Thank you Richey family!!!!

Although we heard we were in a lot of trouble when that baby joins us in the outside world, *(it's going to be a crazy one) It was so sweet to hear the baby and see the baby. It's been a while since I've seen or heard from the little guy/girl.

With that in mind, new goal: calm, calm, calm. I guess Nate and I could stop dancing around the house. And I could stop running from Nate screaming.(This is Nate. I'm not doing anything to her, she just likes to run away screaming.) And that techno music Nate loves so much could play a little less. (ah, come on.)

...but the chances of Nate and I totally transforming are slim..

Therefore, the way I look at it, we can't blame OUR baby for being a bit like mom and dad. (probably more like Dad)

The doctor speaks through the whole video. So we get to share what the doc shared with us! And towards the end, the baby's heartbeat.

Okay, it's true. No sense in denying it, the proof is evident. ..we have neglected our blog for nearly 5 months. So sorry, but after the tour ended I forgot about the blog and Nate abandoned it. So there, now that everything's pinned on Nate, we can move on. Start new.

We are currently in Sacramento, CA (California being the key word here). Thank God! Nothing against the other states, but California is definitely home.

I must admit, I did do a pretty lousy job at finding us a house last summer while Nate was gone. South Sacramento isn't ideal but its home at the moment. Which brings me to our next update: we're definitely moving! We looking into Davis, Elk Grove, Dixon, and Vacaville? We are having a hard time choosing, maybe we'll take a vote.

We are hoping to get into an awesome town (maybe the outskirts) with an awesome community, with a rad church. That's all! Not asking too much. Why you ask?

Well that brings me to my next update: WE'RE PREGNANT! Which most of you probably know, but I had to bring it up! I mean crazy right! We're stoked. Well, I am now leaving my first trimester so I AM STOKED! awh-sta-la-vista awful nausea! As of
Wednesday, we will be sitting at 11 weeks. What does that mean?

Well let me tell you! Our baby has now gotten rid of that tail! It's true, the tail is out and more baby is in. It definitely does not look like a reptile anymore, it is 100% baby-looking. Which I know it's not really important and that tail probably had some great meaning to it, but it's just nice to have just a cute baby butt instead. Anyhow, this week the baby had a big week. This week is the chances of miscarriage have lessened greatly and will continue to as weeks pass. All the major build of the baby is laid out already so its just a matter of filling in the little details from here on out.

So excited, but not so excited about our due date: August 18, 2010. That due date is sitting EXACTLY on our anniversary. What are the chances?? Well, we'll just have to see what happens..

The birds were flying around where I'm staying, and the lizard was by a school. The Lizard by the way was about a foot and a half long. This place is crazy. Australia is pretty awesome. Way better then England. It's kinda weird because it seems more like a small tropical island than anything else. Parrots are flying around everywhere, weird animals that you only see in the zoo are on the sidewalk, it's winter time and it was 74 degrees last night. Now, would I give all this up to be back in the US? Heck ya. Tonight I'm going to go out and try and film the crazy opossums that run this city. They're cute, but I think they can kill you, just like everything else in this country. Especially the cars. You get hit by one of them, forget it.

I made it to Australia after numerous hours on a plane and missing a flight because the luggage belt broke. On the good side, I got upgraded for free on my flight to Australia which was Awesome, the place I'm staying is pretty sweet(note the view), and I got a free upgrade on my rental car. Yeah Leather. So here are a couple of more pics. That first one is the Saint of Kung Fu. HYYA! Um, I actually don't know what he was. Then the Pirates of the Caribbean ship. Oh no, black sales. Then I was trying to shoot this kid in the foot, but he wouldn't hold still. Another super awesome Cathedral and the other picture is the actual Roman floor that was under the Cathedral's floor. It was pretty sweet.

Second Trip to England

So I finally got to get back on Blog Spot. The place I was at in England didn't let me on. Lame. Anyway, here are a few pictures of some of the places I got to see. A cool old cemetery that seemed to be forgotten. I had to climb through stuff to get there. This church actually was on fire during WWII when a German bomb exploded in the middle and put the fire out, but didn't damage the church. Stonehenge, really not as great as everyone says. One of the massive Cathedrals that are plentiful throughout England. This one just happens to be the tallest. It's massive. This last one is actually a castle that was built by the Romans, and then was added onto as the years went. The wall around it is over 2000 years old and is the largest intact Roman wall in Western Europe. Yeah, I took a piece.

And even more pictures. This one has the William Wallace Monument. The thing is massive and on this huge rock. You'd have to go to actually understand. But anyway, I walked to the top and the picture of the landscape is from the top. That is the same field that William Wallace fought on. It's the really big battle he won in Braveheart, but come to find out that Braveheart was filmed in Ireland and not Scotland, and let me tell ya, the Scotts don't like that that much. Anyway, I found the birth place of Carlyle (CARLYLE!). That's for you babe. Then there was this royal ugly dude that I had to get a picture with, then I punched him in the face for being so mean. No I didn't. So that's it. The blog is so much nicer when Lisa writes isn't it. haha.

So we got a couple of random things here. First, we have the Audi A8 thats always cruising around (that one's for Pops). Then we have a cool English river with some sweet houseboats. That's a British flag from close to the Revolutionary War. There's also the castle where Robert the Bruce ruled after he betrayed and William Wallace and showed that he truly was a loser. It's also the Castle that the English occupied before they attacked Wallace and were defeated. And then that last one is me and a real, not just someone dressed up, military bagpiper. I'm pointing at all his daggers and crazy scariness.

So I finally found the free internet here in the UK. It's pretty crazy over here. Everything is so expensive. It cost three dollars to wash a pair of socks. I'd call that expensive. There are so many cool things though. The food is amazing. Everything that I have eaten has been pretty incredible. The sights are awesome. Most of the stuff around us is older than the U.S. So, I've gotten to see some pretty cool churches, super old cemetaries, met some cool people. I've put a couple of photos on here, and more will be coming. Love you babe. Wish you were here.

Day One - destination: CA

Today is the day people. The most that some of us have been waiting for..we're coming to California!!!

Nate and I was leave El Paso, Texas around 4pm with roughly 1,076 miles ahead of us. Bring us to, at the very least, 18 hours on the road. But I know every mile is worth is because we will have officially reached California Monday. Oh how I appreciate our home.

I will keep you all informed on where we are on the map as much as possible. Thanks for reading, and we can not wait to see you all!

El Paso, Texas

Our time in El Paso began when we caught sight of Mexico just a few miles toward the hills of El Paso. Emotions immediately flooded my mind and heart. You can see the poor and weak right outside your window. That is not an easy thing to face every day. How hard it must be to live in such a country, in such a culture while a different world lives..just on the other side. On the other side of the fence.

I spent my birthday here in El Paso and I have to say, it was about the best birthday I've ever had. Nate and I went to a Science Museum. We were there about 30 minutes. After that we stopped at the grocery store, where Nate bought all sorts of lively things for our seafood feast he planned.

The cooking was quite fun to watch (yes, Nate did it ALL). The only part I turned away was the part where Nate boiled "two-two" alive. Two-two was our lobster we chose to eat. He was a warrior, I could tell. He was missing half of his antenna and he was lying and crawling all over everyone in in the tank! It was weird when we brought him home and he was calm. I think he had given up already. Regardless, he was cute. So we named him.

It was sad. I felt bad. But I guess not that bad since I swallowed him! ..But really, I felt guilty. I know it's no different than eating lobster at a resturant, but it is different! I met him!

We found a drive-in and decided to go yesterday night. It was only $6 a ticket for a double feature! It was pretty cool. They had all the major new release movies there and three screens going. We watch two movies back-to-back with lots of snacks. It was my first experience with a drive-in. There aren't too many of those back in California.Since we arrived in Midland, Nate has been so excited to visit the Air Force Museum. So here is a bit of our visit:

Midland, Texas

So we arrived in Midland, TX yesterday. The weather is really nice. It finally feels like we're really in May. Being here, you could definitely tell you're somewhere ...different. I don't know how to explain it, but the people are crazy here (well from the people we've seen in the campground mainly). Everyone is definitely active. But not on Sunday! Or Monday. I'm not sure why not Monday, but who I am to say anything about anything in Texas! I have to admit, we went into a Hollister today for the first time together and Nate asked to leave right away because it reminded him of California. That moment was actually really sad. For those of you not familiar with Hollister, there entire line seems to be influenced by California. All the shops have TVs playing the beach shore over and over. As if someone is out there on an air balloon filming the waves crashing onto the sand. They have so much of a California/Beach feel that I never noticed until...well until we found ourselves shopping in Texas.

Anyhow, we miss home.

Amarillo, Texas

Our journey to Texas was a bit of an adventure. Nate and I pulled over to take some pictures of the buffalo, just before crossing into Texas. When we were done, we headed back to the truck and Nate noticed this huge bulge on the side of the tire. I've never seen anything like it and it seemed as if the Chevy service department hadn't either. So, we were thankfully able to claim it under our warranty as a "defected" tire. So we got away with only having to spend 10 bucks, sweet! Texas is dry, hot, and you can find all the necessary shops here. The campground we're staying at is awesome! All paved, pool, spa, exercise room, and....get ready, FREE LAUNDRY! That is why this campground is by far, my favorite.

Nate and I have grown so much since we've left California. God has definitely taught me so much, I am so thankful for this experience...but we are sooo stoked to be toward the end of our tour!

Oklahoma City, Oklahoma

Our visit to Oklahoma was by far my favorite. There was not a bit of boredom, our days were booked. We spent every day visiting Orval and Sherry and of course all the kids! It was a bit of a relief when we pulled up and saw Target, Best Buy, and Starbucks! It was like we were home for a few days. Except Oklahoma City was surrounded by bright green. The grass and the trees made it so pretty, it had quite the contrast with the red dirt. I learned from Cameron that Okla means "red" and homa means "people". Red People. Maybe it has to do with the Indians or the dirt, I'm not sure.
Uncle Orval and Aunt Sherry made us feel right at home. We got to eat at all the "favorite" resturants of Oklahoma City and at the same time ate homestyle food Sherry made for us. About every evening we played a game of Palabra (this is a game we discovered is actually a lot of fun!) It was so much fun getting to know the family and I hope we see them again soon!

We are currently in Texas. And will continue to be for the rest of our tour. We have two more weeks of our tour, then it's "california, california,....here we cooommmeee!!" for us!

Severe Thunderstorm in Dodge and we're on tornado watch. crazy.

The one above was taken from our window and the other was taken an hour before the one above. It was taken from a little hill not too far from where we're parked...it's not so bad in this video. It's much worse now. The wind has picked up. It is very warm here during the storm, it's so weird. Heavy hail is expected. The rain just started and the trees are going crazy. But don't worry God says their roots are deep!

Kansas is an wide open state. There is land for miles everywhere you look. In our first week in Kansas, entertainment was totally up to us....

In our second week in Kansas, we drove 200 miles south of where we stayed our first week... and on our way there there were many old, creepy, abandoned houses. We decided to stop at the next one we ran into.

Schedule Update

We have just arrived to Dodge City, Kansas this morning.

We will leave this friday and drive to Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.

We will be there for a week; leaving friday to Amarillo, Texas. We will be in Texas for 3 weeks, making Texas our last tour spot.

At the end of the 3 weeks in Texas we will make our way back to California. The company has given us the last few weeks of May to travel back to home, to California.

We should arrive in California the last week of May.

I will remain in California; Nate will fly out of San Francisco June 6th. Nate will spend his summer in Europe and Australia. However every two weeks overseas, the pro's visit home for a week. Then return overseas.

There is a possibility I will be able to visit Nate in Australia late in the summer.

When Nate returns home at the end of the summer, we will find a permanent home here in California. The company has not yet decided what exact location would be best in Northern California. But we do know it would be anywhere from Lodi to Sacramento, depending upon what commute would be best for Nate.

This is all the info I know for now. Hope to have more soon!

Since we left you we've been to Montana twice, Wyoming once again, South Dakota, Nebraska, and now Kansas. I know, it's been quite the adventure. And on this adventure I've discovered my favorite meat: Buffalo. They seem to serve it at pretty much any restaurant around here. Montana seems to be my favorite of the five and putting Kansas at my least. South Dakota was a really fun visit. If you ever have a chance to visit Mount Rushmore, do it! The town has SO much there. We were able to visit Mount Rushmore of course, the Reptile Zoo, and we were close to going into the Bear Mountain (where you get the opportunity to pet baby cubs). There were also cave exploring, a big water park, and a maze park. And this was all in one town! It was definitely one of our highlight weekends. And good news! They've recently added a new face to the mountain.

We are currently in Oakley, KS and preparing to travel to Oklahoma City, Oklahoma this next friday afternoon. Kansas, however, has been the state to deliver us some sunshine! It has also given plenty of thunderstorms as well (my first real,warm thunderstorm may I add). Unlike South Dakota, there isn't much here. I'd hate to say this but the people we've encountered aren't the most welcoming. Which is the first state we've been to to pick up on the fact that maybe California isn't the most loved state...

I found that rediscovering our history has me feeling a sense of loss, but left me refreshed - Our nation belongs to our God.

Casper, Wyoming

This week has been quite a week for Nate. Casper has had blizzard warnings for Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday. Therefore, due to the weather shows have been cancelled or rescheduled. Today there is a no driving policy on Casper; which is completely understandable considering it is 12 degrees out and tonight will have a high of 9. Even Sadie is not so excited to go out and go potty today. However, Nate will go today in hopes to perform the show.

Friday will be our last day here in Casper. We will travel to Billings, Montana once more. We will be leaving the rv in Billings while we travel to Great Falls, Montana. We will stay in a hotel there for the night. We will only be there for a few days. THEN, we will travel back to Billings and stay put for the rest of the week. That is all the info I have on this next week. However, we did hear word that our tour will end the first week of June. In which we will return to California. June 7 Nate is scheduled to leave for Europe. And that is all the info I have regarding this summer, but I will definately keep you guys updated.

Spreading the Love

Okay. Our last stop was to the animal shelter. There were lots of homeless dogs there. Think about how sad that is? That's sad. No one loves them! So we left with an Iketa. There I said it haha and she's awesome. We read about the Iketa breed before we adopted her and found out a lot of cool things about this dog. The breed originated from Japan. They were actually bred to be the protector of the home. While the father was gone to war, the mother would leave the family with the Ikeda. Sadie is her name. She is so great. She doesn't ever, ever bark. She doesn't chew on things. She's house trained. She has had all her shots, papers, and she is a little under a year old. She even know a few tricks. And she is beautiful, loving, and an alpha female for sure! She is going to be a huge snow dog when she grows up. She's going to be a great protector.

Out and About in Casper

Soo, we got a little bored while we were hanging out in Casper, so we decided to check out the local sites. Let me tell you, it was kinda dangerous. While we were out, Lisa almost got eaten by a 25 foot shark they had just caught (yes Dad, even in the middle of the US you're not safe), then she almost got squished by Daffy Duck. Lisa also got so bored that she took up a new career as an Alligator wrestler. That alligator was no match for her. But then the fact that I married the perfect girl was reemphasized when I saw her working in the garage on the VW. But she must not of felt the same way about me because she started getting fresh with the local hottie. Yeah, I thought he was a little green, but she seemed to like him. So, this was the day before it snowed. It was 70 degrees outside and was actually really nice. After we escaped death, we went to the State Pool Championships. There were 3000 people there playing pool, so we thought that would be cool (you get along good in Wyoming Micheal). Only one problem, we didn't know that you could smoke inside buildings. In fact, I think it was a requirement at the tournament. So after Lisa and I got cancer from second hand smoke, we left to see what else was around. The home and garden show was in town. Five minutes later we were done with that. That was cool. We made one more stop, but that's for the next posts, and I'll leave that for Lisa. Peace.
